We’re looking for a highly motivated, fun-loving Growth Marketer who loves data, testing and optimising for meaningful conversions.
At BUG we make it easy to cook delicious insect meals at home – with our insect cooking kits delivered straight through your letterbox.
We’re on a mission to change perceptions and take edible insects mainstream. To do this BUG is building a world-class team of fun-loving, ambitious people, and we’d love you to be one of them!
We’ll be developing and launching badass products that our customers absolutely love, whilst growing our community and spreading the word through creating world class content and hosting events and street food stalls.
CoFounders Leo and Aaron founded BUG in 2018 as a weekend hobby cooking and shooting insect recipe videos in their garage for fun. In April 2020 they sold the first BUG Kit.
Will, the team’s Chef, is an industry leading development chef, having previously designed the recipes and ready meal ranges for Coop, Tesco and Waitrose supermarkets, in addition to several high street restaurants.
We have an experienced board of advisors including Donna Egan (former VP of Marketing at Gousto), Alvaro Baudet (former Procter & Gamble and Ernst & Young), and Ben Cooper (a well connected advisor and investor). Our investors include Holly Branson (daughter of Richard Branson), Peter Norris (Chairman of Virgin Group), Carl Pei (founder of One Plus), James Frost (former CEO at Gay Times), amongst others.

This role will heavily inform the rest of our marketing and strategy, from messaging, to identifying our target market, to the kind of content we create. You will also be optimising our sales funnel. As the data center of the team, you will be working closely with others including the founders, and content creators.
Testing social media posts and ads
Preparing and sending email marketing campaigns
Optimising sales funnel and running tests on our website
Jumping in to help other team members every so often
What you need to do the job effectively:
Believe insects are the future of food, and have a strong desire to help create a more sustainable food system
Experience testing social media ads, and can manage SEO like a Jedi
Be an excellent communicator
Can write clearly and succinctly, and in BUG’s jovial tone of voice
Entrepreneurial in solving problems. ie. can independently own a problem and find solutions
Speak, read and write in perfect English
Be able to work in our London studio (Islington)
Bonus (but not at all essential):
Experience working with a D2C or F&B brand
Familiar with Wix website platform
Have writing experience (could be a hobby ie. personal blog)
